We have gathered a lot of questions from you.
This is a temple having unique rules or requests that differ from hotels or inns.
We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation in advance.

Temple lodging

Q.Can I still make use of it even though I am not from Koyasan Shingon Sect?
A.Yes, anyone can use it.
Q.We also would like to have a memorial service while our stay, is it possible?
A.Please make a phone call or send an e-mail to us via “Contact Us” to discuss the schedule of your memorial service. After confirming the date and time of the memorial service, please making a reservation for your stay.
Q.Is the facility barrier-free?
A.

  • We have a barrier-free washroom and restroom.
  • If you let us know beforehand, we will prepare a slope at the entrance.
  • Rental wheelchairs are available for exclusive use in the temple.
  • To those who wish to stay at a barrier-free room, please make a phone call or send an e-mail to us via “Contact Us” for room availabilities in advance.
  • A rental cot is available (up to 1). Please make a phone call or send an e-mail to us via “Contact Us” to check rental item availabilities on the reservation day in advance.
Q.Is there a fee for children?
A.Guests under 5 years old are accepted at 80% of the adult rate.
In this case, they will be served a children’s meal, which includes deep fried shrimp, hamburg steak, etc., instead of Buddhist Cuisine.
Q.Is it possible to stay with infants?
A.Yes, please let us know in advance if you have children under 2 years old.
There will be no futon (bed-sharing) and no meal for children under 2 years old so there are no charges.
Q.What amenities do you have in the room?
A.Toothbrushes, yukata robes, haori gown (summer), tanzen gown (winter), bath towels and face towels are available.
Q.Is there a hairdryer?
A.It is in the changing room of the public bath.
Q.Is there soap and shampoo?
A.There is body soap, shampoo and conditioner at the public bath.

Q.Can I do sutra copying?
A.Yes. For more information, please check here for details.
Q.Can I participate in a morning ceremony?
A.Any guest can participate in morning ceremonys without reservation.
They are preached at the main hall every morning from 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 a.m.

Q.Is there a closing time?
A.The closing time is 10:00 p.m.

Meal

Q.I cannot eat meat, seafood, eggs and dairy products due to allergies.
A.
We serve Buddhist cuisine at the temple.
Meat, seafood, eggs, and dairy products are not included.
Q.I have an allergy.
A.We serve Buddhist cuisine at the temple, so all ingredients are plant-based.
Please let us know at least 2 days prior to your stay if you are allergic to vegetables, especially buckwheat, soybeans, gluten, mushrooms or seaweed.

*In Buddhist cuisine, a lot of soybean-made ingredients including tofu or Koya tofu are used instead of using animal protein. Therefore, it may not be able to respond to your request in food allergy in case of having soybean allergy. Please be noted in advance.

*We cannot accept your request on the day before or on the day of your stay. Please be sure to inform us at least two days before your stay.

Q.Is it possible to have breakfast or dinner only?
A.Sorry, we do not accept reservations for one meal only.

Q.Do you only accept cash?
A.You can use cash, credit cards, Union Pay or PayPay.
Q.What credit cards can I use?
A.VISA, Master, JCB, AMEX, UnionPay and PayPay can be used.
